Chris Tapp

Chris Tapp

After some close brushes with semi-success in the music industry, Chris Tapp decided to pull back for a couple of years and work on a personal project.

Burnt out on trying to fit into someone else's perspective on what his songs should sound like, he enlisted drummer Brian Mullins to jam through some newer material.

After spending a few months trying to piece in a bass player that really understood the material, the duo decided to just for-go the bass player all together.

The end result was Tapp covering all parts himself. Tapp’s love for Delta blues greats like Son House and Bukka White mixed with the live energy of a Iggy Pop presents a

very explosive and original live set. Songs are smart, singer songwriter based material with classic rock riffs and punk rock abandon.

Using 3-4 amps on stage, and a bass contraption that Tapp came up with, the duo covers more ground than most 4 piece bands without having to use samples or sequencers.

In the short year the duo has been together, they have amassed a loyal following, shared the stage with acts like

Rocco Deluca and Roman Candle, and drawn the interest of celebrities and film makers.

The Cold Stares are the current buzz in Nashville and can be seen at local venues like 3rd and Lindsley and The Basement.
